On Thursday while prepping all kinds of food for my Wildtree Party I decided why not continue with the fun!?  So I decided to make my friend Mary’s Homemade Humus.  Which I must add, is better than store-bought for sure!

Homemade Humus

This recipe is soooo simple and delicious!  If you don’t have a food processor you can use a blender.

4 can organic garbanzo beans
1 bag lemons (6 were in my bag)
2 tbsp tahini paste

4 cloves of garlic
Sea salt to taste

(If you use salted tahini like I did you can skip the extra salt)

I didn’t know mine was salted so I did add a little extra so its pretty salty..but not too bad!  It still tasted great!


  • Put 2 cans of beans in blender or food processor.
  • Add tahini, and garlic, and slowly add lemon juice until smooth.

  • I juiced each lemon individually and had the lemon juice prepared.

  • Add the last two cans of garbanzo beans and continue to blend until smooth


  • Add sea salt to taste (If desired)
  • Now you have humus for a lifetime!

Yesterday’s Breakfast

So Yesterday I worked 12 hours so I didn’t take a lot of pictures, but what I did get a snap of was the best breakfast EVER!

Oatmeal Breakfast Parfait (Round 2)

This time I topped with strawberries and pecans and it was out of this world!


You need to try this breakfast for sure!

After work I am not going to lie I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries for dinner!  I don’t remember the last time I had this kind of meal! It was work it since I ate great all week and I am still going strong on my 30 day challenge!

It was too dark for a picture, but this is pretty much what It looked like!

The real reason is probably because I ate it too quick before I remembered to take a picture!


With ketchup on the side of course  🙂

You can’t hold yourself back from eating what you want at times, because then I find that binge eating occurs!   Eat a little bit of what you want in moderation and you will be fine!    No I didn’t gain 5 lbs overnight from this meal!  But now I am off to crossfit!

I want to take a real quick poll also:

I’m wondering if those people who do crossfit or exercise in the morning, before starting their day, do you eat breakfast before?  If you do eat, what do you eat?

My friend says she doesn’t eat before crossfit which surprised me because it is so intense!  I feel like I would pass out!  I usually have at least something small like a banana or some peanut butter or a combo!
