flashback friday

So yesterday was another busy work day but I wanted to capture some of my good eats and highlight some awesome crossfit workouts that I did this week!  I’ll start with yesterday.


For Breakfast I had Quaker’s perfect portion cinnamon oats.  PS. Go check out my review on them!

Crossfit on Thursday was weird, but fun, and exhausting all at once.

Instead of using a huge stone, I used a 85# sandbag, which was so heavy!  We had to pick it up and chuck it over a bar!  What a workout that was, just getting up to my chest was a workout!

For Dinner I had Breakfast = Brinner.  I usually make breakfast for dinner when I don’t feel like cooking and eggs are usually my go to meal!

I also had some captain crunch for dessert. No this is not healthy, but this what happens when I have to stock a pantry full of kid’s sugary cereals.  I love this cereal, so I gave in!

Probably the best cereal in the world!

I am pretty sure I am mixing all my days together too, but here is a recap of the food and fitness that happened this week!

Side Note:  All of you crossfiters out there, have you seen the Open Wod 13.2?  I’m actually hoping to do it this weekend!  It looks fun actually, but I am sure it’s deceivingly hard 😉

I am pretty sure that a 75 Push Press for however many rounds I make it, will be SUPER hard!  I am excited to see how many rounds I can get out of it though.

Good Morning!

Today I have a fun product review for you!  You know I love oats, and who doesn’t?  Oats are a satisfying meal that keep me going for hours, especially when I add in some extra protein!  They are full of fiber and keep me full all morning long!

Quaker was so kind to send me a new product called “Perfect Portions” Oatmeal that comes in Cinnamon and Maple Flavor!

The GREAT thing about these oats is that they have ZERO SUGAR, so you can sweeten them however you like:  stevia, maple syrup, honey etc.  Whatever your little heart desires.

When you open the bags, the aroma of maple and cinnamon fill the air!  They are perfectly portioned so you can just scoop out a 1/2 cup and cook in on the stove top or in the microwave.  I am a microwave kind of gal, especially when I am in a hurry, which is most days!

There is endless possibilities for this oatmeal!  Yesterday for breakfast I had the cinnamon flavor with 1/2 of a banana, strawberries, 1 packet of stevia, and more cinnamon on top.  Delicious!  I also added in one egg white for a little bit more protein.  The oats alone have:

  • 4 grams of fiber
  • 6 grams of protein

I have seen these at Kroger, and I’m sure you can find them at other major grocery stores too.

I also made overnight oats with the maple. I just added a little bit of sugar free maple syrup to enhance the flavor and wala!  They are great without extra sweetener too though.
