Good Morning! I want to give you guys a weekend recap real quick! I well tell you about Easter tomorrow- let me just say, way too much sugar and candy!!
Friday:
We went out for our friend’s birthday and ate at Bobby’s Burger Palace. This was the burger I had. AMAZING.
Along with this..
Saturday:
Breakfast before Crossfit: Almond Butter and Banana on a Van’s toasted waffle.
Crossfit was, well….it would have been brutal but I scaled the weight.
It was GRACE!
Clean and Jerks basically work your whole body since you have to take the weight from the floor to overhead! Great Workout!
Prescribed weight for women is 95 lbs. Let me just tell you my 3 Rep Max Push Press is only 95 lbs so this would have been super HARD and it would have taken me probably a half hour to finish!
Instead I used the prescribed scaled weight which was 65 lbs. I could have probably done 75, but it was still a good workout.
I finished in 4:57.
After crossfit the husband and I hut up the hardware store and did some much-needed yard work. The dogs have just basically torn the whole yard apart so we still have lots to do!
Speaking of dogs… This is slightly off topic but my dogs are so WEIRD sometimes. For instance, Jackson will NOT eat his food until Lily eats all of hers first. He just sits there and waits until she leaves the room.
Do your pets have any weird quirks?
It was also almost 60 degrees on Saturday too so we played outside some. Jackson was tired from playing fetch!
Lunch was pretty awesome too. We enjoyed tuna melts with salad. I topped mine with a mini baby bell cheese cut in half and broiled to deliciousness.
Salad topped with Roasted Chickpeas.
Then I had some of this:
And a little later some Paleo Zucchini Banana Bread– which is now gone 😦
For dinner we had Shrimp Tacos topped with an awesome mango avocado salsa.
- 1/2 mango
- 1/2 avocado
- chopped red onion
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro
- couple splashes of lime juice
- salt
Make this asap please! Use as topping or eat with pita chips.
Enjoy!
How was your Easter weekend?
Crossfiters Do you LOVE or HATE Grace?

Hehe. Jackson’s face in that first picture is great. He’s like… “Mooooooooom… Don’t take pictures. It’s embarrassing!” Dogs can definitely be goofy. Mine steals my socks, takes them to her bed, and sleeps with them.

Grace sounds tough! Right now, I am still mad at Jenna but apparently today we are doing Barbara so it’s hard to know who I want to be friends with and who is on my hate list : )
Your chocolate bar looks awesome. I’ve been buying that same brand but the ginger flavor…it’s incredible! Cheers to Blue Moon beer and fun weekends!

Roasted chickpeas are amazing. I love eating them plain or using them to make vegetarian tacos. I will have to try topping a salad with them the next time that I make them :).

That is too funny about your dogs eating habit. Bentley always eats his food as fast as he can! The mango salsa looks great

Mango avocado salsa sounds fantastic! I make a similar version . . . I should really dig up that recipe soon. It totally reminds me of summer!!
Your pups are so cute! Quirks are part of what make them so unique and lovable, right!?! We just made an addition to our family this weekend–I’ll post about it tomorrow. 🙂

Oh my goodness, your dogs are too funny! I was seriously laughing out loud at this picture – Nola likes to eat if I am in the kitchen doing something, so she will wait for me to bake or cook to come eat her food!!

So interesting about your dog waiting until the other finishes….must be a “waiting for the alpha dog thing.” All your eats look so good!

Haha! That is too funny that your dog waits to eat! Dogs can be so weird sometimes! Ours jumps up in the air at absolutely nothing like he’s trying to catch something. So weird! Oh not to mention he has to sniff his doody! Ugh! So gross!
