Inspiring fitness lovers to have their cupcake and eat it too!

Welcome to Fitcupcaker!

About Me:

me 5

I am a 27 year old registered  nurse with a busy lifestyle with passion for fitness and healthy eating.  I am a lover of Christ and my family!  I have a husband, Eric and a step son, Alec who is 11 years old.

I try to incorporate healthy ingredients into my meals and make them fun and delicious at the same time! Cooking for a picky 11 year old isn’t always the easiest thing to do. I love cooking and trying great recipes that I make up on my own or try from others.

I also believe that if you are a sweets lover like myself that you can still enjoy treats, but doing so in moderation is key. Giving treats up completely just isn’t an option!  My favorite sweet treats are cupcakes – carrot cake to be exact!  I also love chocolate and I could eat cereal for every meal.  Eating a balanced diet is what’s important to me.

My husband Eric and I live right outside of Cincinnati. We have lived here our whole lives, boring I know!   Alec is my step son and he lives with us too. Eric and I got married in August of 2010 and Alec moved in with us right after.

We also have two dogs: Lily who is a mutt, and Jackson who is a purebred border collie. These are my children too!

My Fitness Point Of View:

I enjoy working out at the gym and going to crossfit! I have also dabbled into a few other activities such as running, and pure barre.  I work out about 5 times a week, but I also know that it is important to let your muscles recover 🙂  I like to workout with a buddy so we can push each other to points that we wouldn’t go to alone.  My workout buddy is my little sister. I also know that DIET is a huge part of being fit and healthy so I try to watch what I put in my body, even though I do splurge sometimes (who doesn’t).  I believe balance is the key.

I play volleyball recreationally when I can and soon I want to try hot power yoga.  You can visit my fitness page to see all the fitness routines and exercises that I like.  I like a challenge, so I am always up for new things.  I want to live my life to the fullest while still being healthy and happy!

Foodie:

I haven’t always been the healthiest eater, but I’ve always been pretty thin, thinking that it would never catch up with me.   I used to eat a lot of fast food- My favorites were McDonald’s crispy chicken and french fries, I love DQ blizzards, of course cupcakes, and Larosas Pizza!  Don’t get me wrong, I still love french fries but I just don’t eat them as much.

I’ve been eating pretty healthy for a while now and I have a lot of friends who do the same, So it is is easier to stay on track when you have good support.  I have learned that eating healthy can taste GOOD!

I started this blog to stay on track with my fitness and eating habits and I hope you will join me in my journey!

Cute blog! Think we have a huge thing in common: LOVE OF OATMEAL! I can’t wait to try some of your oatmeal secrets. What I like to do with mine is make a mixed up parfait (healthy parfait!). Cook oatmeal, with fruit in it (I like the fruit to get mushy), add two dollops of organic, fat free vanilla yogurt, then sprinkle with nuts. I also LOVE to add cinnamon, a touch of brown sugar, and sometimes even pumpkin seasoning to make it “taste like the holidays”!

    Hi there,

    Awesome blog!
I love the fact that you really promote a healthy lifestyle with balance and moderation, I totally think that’s the key to a content, happy life where you can also be fit and healthy 🙂

And just quietly, oatmeal is the absolutely LOVE of my life; I swear I have it every morning and it’s so versatile and easy to mix up, creating a completely different brekkie… all equally as delish. 😉

Also love that you try to incorporate healthy ingredients to make yummy, clean treats; I’ll have to give some of them a go!

    Kloe x
