Good Morning!
I love sharing my wonderful eats, and that is indeed what it was yesterday! Make sure you also head over to Jenn’s blog and find out what she’s been snacking on lately too!
Breakfast: I was off work yesterday so I had plenty of time to play in the kitchen.
Blueberry (Almond flour) Protein Pancakes were on the menu for Eric and I yesterday morning! We had some running around to do so I knew we needed something to hold us for at least a few hours.
Fitness: Arms & Back Plus A WOD that included my good ole kettlebell, box jumps, push ups, and sit ups- took me 8:50
Lunch: Leftover Chicken Fajitas- Chicken, red and yellow peppers, sprinkle of cheese. 1/4 avocado added after snapshot 🙂
Dinner: Giant plate of spaghetti squash and turkey meatballs
First Cut Spaghetti Squash in Half. Hint: I make this easier by sticking the entire thing in the microwave for about 5 minutes first ! I spread a little bit of Olive Oil or Grapessed oil with s&p, and garlic onto the squash. Place it rind up in the oven for 45 minutes at 400 degrees!
Top with meat sauce or turkey meatballs like I did! This is really only 3 meatballs cut into pieces but looks like way more! I am not defending that I have a huge meal here, because I do!! So good!
And a little breakfast prep:
What could this be!?!? This is my first time making this concoction but I cannot wait to share the recipe (As long as it tastes good!)
And to finish off my night:
Did you eat anything different or really tasty this week so far?
“The Big Green”
Saturday afternoon I made a Big Green Protein Smoothie for a snack and it was delicious!
Ingredients:
1 big bunch (handful) of fresh spinach
7 strawberries
1 scoop vanilla protein powder- I used fitmixer “Sculpt” but any would work!
2 tbsp flaxseed meal
4-5 ice cubes
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tsp honey
Mix all ingredients in blender until smooth!
Now you have your big green full of protein!
Breakfast:
Before crossfit I had 1/2 banana with 1 tbsp of almond butter
Ok, who am I kidding, I went back for a second scoop.
Look who was a little creeper in the background this morning…She always wants what I have!
Crossfit:
Saturday are group workouts and they are so intense!!
The workout was groups of 3: (you could split it up however you wanted)
15 minute clock: 7:30 AMRAP
20 front squats
30 barbel rollout
40 box jumps
1200 meter run
10 min. clock- 5 min AMRAP
10 front squats
15 barbel rollout
20 box jumps
800 meter run
5 min clock- 2:30 AMRAP
5 front squats
7 barbel rollout
10 box jumps
400 meter run
WHAT A WORKOUT!
After crossfit I had my fitmixer protein shake. Straight vanilla which was pretty tasty. The only thing I don’t like about the fitmixer “sculpt” protein is that is has 6 grams of sugar whereas the Beverly International UMP only has 1 gram.
A little later I drank my fitmixer aminos– grape this time and it was tasty!
Saturday was cleaning day for us which was not fun!
I had to get my house in order for the Wildtree party that I am having Sunday! It should be a lot of fun!
I finally got my Christmas tree down, thank God! Talk about late!
Lunch
After cleaning for a couple of hours I was starving! I made a Spinach salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and a hard-boiled egg. Talapia for some added protein and fruit on the side 🙂
The Skinny on Hard Boiled Eggs
I wrote previously about how my hard-boiled eggs were so hard to peel and half of the egg came off every time, even though the yolks looked perfect!
My eggs were actually easy to peel this time! I read that eggs are easier to peel when they are “older” eggs, so they have been in your refrigerator about a week or so.
I got my eggs the same day that I boiled them this time, so I think it is just a hit or miss! Who knows!?!
Your thoughts…
Dinner
I was planning on making mini turkey meatloaf muffins but I made tacos with my ground turkey instead!
I made mine on a low carb wrap, so mine was more like a mini taco burrito.
Grocery Cart Dilemma
Ok, I don’t know if this has happened to any of you out there, but EVERY time I go to the grocery store, I MEAN EVERY TIME…..I get a fu***d up cart!!
This is a normal grocery cart, one of which I never get!
Usually it has a bad wheel…
If I turn left, my cart goes right, If I turn right, my cart goes left…. I mean I was really struggling today, and my abs already hurt from crossfit…I was using a lot of my body to get this cart around the dang store.
I usually don’t realize the bad cart situation until I have a cart that is pretty much full! This should count as a second workout right?
This is what I hope for next time!…
Does anyone else know feel my pain here?
Whats your favorite Green smoothie ingredient??
Have you experienced the grocery cart dilemma?
