Good Morning!

I took a little holiday break to myself 🙂  But I am back and ready to share my holiday weekend with you guys!  I didn’t really have time to do any fancy cooking or anything this holiday but I did eat a lot of food and got to hang out with some awesome friends!

First on the agenda:  On the 4th we had lunch with our good friends Nick and Lindsey who brought their baby Kinley, she is so cute!  She had her 4th of July outfit on and was ready to roll!

It rained the whole day and the park by our house even flooded, so we didn’t get to spend the day at the pool like we had hoped!

Later in the evening we went to another friends house and ate lots of food and had our own fireworks show!

Eric also loved their dog!  He’s awesome.

I had 3 of these cookies, they were sooooo good!  I won’t tell you that I may or may not have had a belly ache that night!

Drinking and fireworks are not a good combination!  But we had such a blast even though it started to rain again later that night, and I got hit in the eyebrow with some flying debris!

Saturday:

I went to crossfit after work and did the scheduled WOD which was pretty brutal.  Combining burpees, snatches, box jumps, thrusters, and chest to bar pull ups was pretty tiring.  I am always nervous when I see such a hard workout but then I am always happy after I complete it!

After crossfit I went to the store and stocked up on my protein powder.  I got two pounds plus tons of free samples.  I think I am set fora  while.

I had a protein shake after the workout so I wasn’t too hungry for lunch but I did end up making a pretty tasty snack plate!

The new tomato basil brown rice triscuits are my new favorite cracker!

Sunday:

I was going to go to open gym and work on snatches but we went to first watch for brunch so I didn’t have time.  I didn’t want to take the day off so I went to the gym and did some EASY cardo/core work.  I didn’t really push myself like I wanted to but at least I got a good sweat in.

Sunday night I Made Paleo Apple Cinnamon Muffins with Nikki’s Coconut Butter melted on top 🙂

After a long weekend with lots of sweets (cookies, candy bars, sweet and salty trail mix, etc) I am ready to get back on track with some good meals!!

So here is my (tentative) weekly Meal Plan:

Monday:   Salmon Cakes with Mango Cilantro Salsa

Tuesday:  Laura’s Lean Meatloaf ?

Wenesday:  Chicken Fajitas with Guacamole

Thursday:  Loaded Baked Potato Chicken Salad

Friday:  Cilantro Turkey Burgers with Guacamole

Saturday:  TBD

Sunday:  Pizza at Mom’s for Alec’s belated b-day party

Good Evening!  

I have missed you guys~  I had a busy weekend with friends and family, so here’s what happened.

Friday:

 Friday we went to Everything’s D’Vine  for a wine/beer tasting for our friend’s birthday. We had a blast.

On Saturday I did my First Crossfit Open WOD: 13.1

Let’s just say I loved it and hated it at the same time!  I had to scale the weight of course, but it was still so hard!  I’m sad I didn’t get any pictures.  😦  I need to get better at that!

This was the weight I used for the snatches:  27.5 lbs, 45 lbs, 55 lbs.  There’s no way I could even snatch 75# for 30 reps.  This was my first actual WOD that included snatches also so I was kind of scared!

I’ve only been doing crossfit for about a month so I am still a beginner, but I will get stronger!

 I figured the burpees would be the EASY part and I thought I would bust them out, but I was partially WRONG.  I did the first 40 burpee’s pretty quick, and the first snatches of 27.5 lbs was pretty easy too.  Then came the second set of burpees (30) and I was moving pretty slow.  I ended up getting to the third set of snatches with 55# and I got it up twice just before time ran out!

I actually felt like 18 minutes went pretty quick.  So my total score was 152.

Lunch:

After crossfit I came home and prepared lunch before my Family Girls Weekend!

Salad with one hard boiled egg, avocado, edamame, orange peppers, cucumbers, and a little bit of shard cheddar.

On the side:  some blackberries, and 1/2 of an English muffin with butter.  I was craving carbs!

I also made my own dressing: Grapessed oil, splash of balsamic, s&p, random spices, splash of lemon juice.

Designer Whey also sent me some of their awesome products to try out.  I have tried the french vanilla, and chocolate protein powders, so they sent me the white chocolate and some Protein to go!  How awesome, I love having this stuff on hand 🙂

The protein to go is awesome because you can just pour it into a water bottle, shake it up and take it to go.  I can always tell the difference between designer why products and other proteins because they has a certain smell to them.  I really like the flavors of protein drink mix, and each one has 10 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar!

They also have protein bars that I really want to try out!  They look so tasty!
